This is the time of year where we are thinking of giving and receiving. The problem is that there isn’t enough time or MONEY to get all the things for all the people.

However Rita & Betty has a thoughtful inexpensive solution for your crafting and gifting desires. We put this little tutorial together in hopes you can brighten someone’s Christmas and NOT break the bank.

We love our stovetop potpourri! It is simple to make, smells delightful and makes friends, family and co-workers smile with the thought and care that went into it.

You’ll need:

4 or 8 oz glass jars (canning jars are perfect)
1 Orange
Cinnamon sticks
Star of Anise
Whole Cloves
Fresh Rosemary
Fresh Cranberries

Slice the Orange into circles. Then put the orange, cranberries, and rosemary into an oven on 250 degrees for a minimum of 4 hours. (Times vary do to oven and altitude) This process dehydrates the herbs and fruit. Remove the herbs and fruit as they dry. Once they are all dehydrated set aside.

,Put 2 cinnamon sticks, 10 whole cloves, and 1 star of anise in the glass jar.

Add dried rosemary. Depending on the size of the rosemary add 1-3 stems.

Cut the oranges with scissors and add them to the jar.

Add the dried cranberries and cover with a lid and craft paper tag.

Finally, put the contents in 2 cups of water and simmer on medium low. Replenish water as necessary.
